Our Chefs
Guiding Mezzanine’s kitchen since its opening in 2004, Chef Dim Geefay is a celebrated Thai cookery teacher and television personality, bringing knowledge passed down from her mother in Bangkok’s bustling kitchens. With her expertise, Mezzanine remains true to Thailand’s rich culinary heritage, ensuring that each dish reflects the balance of flavors that define Thai cooking.
Our triad of chefs include executive Liliana Lopez, resident Thai chef Jakkree Putaruk led by the guidance of Thai consultant Dim Geefay. To remain authentic and true to our identity, we maintain a strong connection with Thailand through our team who source local ingredients that emulate the same flavor combinations as those grown on Thai soil. Due to the latitude of Tulum, we are fortunate to grow many herbs and plants that descend from the same family as those found in Thailand itself.
An All-Day Dining Concept
Mornings at Mezzanine begin with a tropical Mexican-influenced breakfast, from refreshing acai bowls to huevos rancheros, paired with house-made coffee and fresh juices. As the day unfolds, the beach menu offers something to snack on while you soak up the sun from passionfruit ceviche to seared steak tacos with Oaxacan cheese. Something for every appetite and an ideal excuse for a midday pause, best enjoyed with a chilled margarita in hand.
Lunchtime and evenings in the main restaurant dive deeper into authentic Thai cuisine, with an aromatic menu featuring house classics like rich Massaman curry, and Pad Thai wrapped in a banana leaf, as well as lighter options like the Thai Queen Salad with seared shrimp, soy noodles, pineapple, jicama, coconut and cashews. Every dish is made from the heart, drawing from both Thai tradition and the region’s finest ingredients.
